Library support for Achieve More: Breaking Boundaries

If you're a Science student working on your Achieve More: Breaking Boundaries project, the library can help...

Study space
We've set aside some space on level 1 of the Information Commons (Room B20) for you to come and work with your team. We also have group study rooms at the IC and Western Bank Library. You can book a table or room using My Rooms and Resources’ (MyR&R) in MUSE. You can also book laptops and video-making through MyR&R.
Details of all Library sites and opening times are available here.

Looking for Research Papers
We'll be talking to you in Week 5 about searching for scientific research using the library resources, and posting useful information on MOLE, but here are some ideas to get you started...
  • StarPlus: Get to StarPlus through MUSE, and use the Articles and More tab to start your search for online research papers. Remember to log in (click on the University members link). See our StarPlus tutorial for further information.
  • Web of Science: this is a huge online collection of research papers and a key resource for Science students. Search for it in University Collections in StarPlus and follow the 'View online' links. Use our Web of Science tutorial to find out more about using Web of Science to find research papers.
Referencing
You'll need to reference any research papers, books or websites you mention in your video. Include a list of references in the credits at the end of your film. Use our online tutorial on Harvard referencing to find out more about how to reference your sources.

If you Need Help
Contact the library helpdesk for general enquiries:

library@sheffield.ac.uk
0114 222-7200

Or you can come to the level 1 desk in the Information Commons Monday-Friday 1-5 and ask a librarian if you need help using Library systems or finding relevant resources.

Good luck with your projects and get in touch if you need any help!
